Proton Mail, le plus grand service de messagerie chiffrée du monde, se lance en France.

Le fournisseur de messagerie chiffrée Proton Mail est disponible en français, à temps pour la fête nationale française. Cela marque la première version internationale de Proton Mail, qui à ce jour était disponible uniquement en Anglais.

À partir du 14 juillet 2017, toutes les applications – web et mobile – de Proton Mail seront disponibles en français pour la première fois. Cette importante étape signifie la réussite de plusieurs mois d’efforts fournis par la communauté francophone ayant traduit l’intégralité du service en français.

Proton Mail est le plus grand service de messagerie chiffrée du mode, et le premier service mondial de messagerie conçu afin de protéger la vie privée des utilisateurs. En utilisant le chiffrement de bout-en-bout, Proton Mail propose un plus grand respect la vie privée et plus de sécurité comparé aux autres entreprises de messagerie puisque la compagnie est incapable de lire les messages des utilisateurs. C’est la grande différence par rapport aux autres services de messagerie – comme par example Gmail – qui analysent activement les messages de leurs utilisateurs à des fins de marketing.

Depuis le lancement de Proton Mail en 2014, le service a régulièrement gagné en popularité en France. Aujourd’hui, Proton Mail a des millions d’utilisateurs à travers le monde, et la France compte pour 10% de l’ensemble des utilisateurs de Proton Mail, en deuxième place après les États-Unis.

“Nous sommes vraiment heureux de lancer Proton Mail en France,” a dit le co-fondateur de Proton Mail, Andy Yen, “notre communauté francophone a joué un rôle important dans le développement et la croissance de Proton Mail, et nous sommes ravis à l’idée de pouvoir enfin proposer Proton Mail entièrement en français.”

Conformément à la vision de Proton Mail comme un projet communautaire, plus de 100 volontaires de la communauté française de Proton Mail ont participé à cet effort de traduction. L’immense effort, qui a commencé en avril 2017, a vu plus de 10’000 phrases séparées traduites en 3 mois.

“Aujourd’hui, comme nous commémorons notre fête nationale, nous nous sommes rappelé que les principes d’égalité, liberté, et fraternité s’appliquent aussi à Internet.,” a dit le développeur en chef Richard Tetaz (@richard_tetaz (new window)), “nous avons construit Proton Mail pour garantir la vie privée et la liberté en ligne, et nous sommes heureux d pouvoir finalement rendre accessible le service aux francophones du monde.”

Dans les prochains mois, la communauté de Proton Mail continuera à travailler sur plusieurs traductions en autres langues. Tous ensemble, plus de 2’000 traducteurs, représentant plus de 30 langues, travaillent en cohésion pour rendre Proton Mail disponible dans les langues les plus parlées au monde.
