  • I LOVE Protonmail! THANK YOU SO MUCH. All the improvements are really great too,,, especially the login being easier now,,, I look forward to the day we can add a theme with just one click! You have provided the unsafe world with a GREAT service in this application; please, keep up the fantastic work!

      • Ok, I will do that. Very small attachments work today (< 1 MB) but not larger ones. Or maybe they take forever to upload? There are no indicators that attachments are uploading so it's impossible to know what's going on.

        • Yes, that’s what’s going on. Large attachments take forever to upload and since nothing is listed as attachment at the bottom of the email it’s impossible to know that they are actually loading. I just found two test emails in my draft folder, one with the 2.72 MB attachment complete. So the bug is not that attachments are not uploading, it’s that they’re not listed.

          • Yes, I have this problem too. Far after when they should have completed and look like they are done, you hit the X to delete one, and many will delete that didn’t really upload.

(I’m also getting you are posting comments too quickly? I only tried once!)

  • When will you get rid of the limit on the number of tags? The current limit is 20. This WAY too low and is a serious limitation on the functionality of Protonmail.

  • Many thanks for the great upgrades. I noticed drag-and-drop immediately. It works well. (And attachments work fine also, as far as I can tell.)

Even though I’m terribly impatient and want ProtonMail (web version and smartphone app version) to quickly add new features, I’m actually quite amazed at how fast and how far the program has developed. ProtonMail is easily competent enough to replace my Gmail account. I still have to revise my personal information on many online accounts to reflect my new email address, but Gmail your days are numbered.

    • Thunderbird most likely will not be supported, but we haven’t made a final decision about this yet. It is not something planned for the near future however.

  • I am researching a method of secure email for our company to receive and send secure documents such as new hire documents which contain sensitive information. Since these will be attachments, will they be encrypted along with the email? When the new hire returns documents via the same email thread, will those documents be secure? How does it work when the newly hired employee does not have protonmail?

    • Yes, attachments are encrypted. If you get a ProtonMail account, you can test to see how the encrypted messages are replied to even if the replier does not have ProtonMail.

  • I’m really digging this service and the mobile app on Android is really nice. I have yet to experience any issues. What I would like to do is submit a suggestion and this may not be the right place to do so and if not, I apologize. Have you guys considered adding a read notification when the recipient logs in to view the encrypted email they received from a ProtonMail user? This isn’t really a performance or stability improvement so it might fall into a category of minor tweaks on the back burner but I thought I would throw it out there.

Thank you everyone for your hard work!

  • Thank you for Protonmail!!!
It is amazing how you improve it. I have a protonmail address but I will use it definitely when will be possible to use email client as Thunderbird (or similar). It is very important for me to sign my emails with my own certificate.
    When will come it?
Thanks for your work, it is worth so much!!

  • Hi guys,

    Great work, as always.
Just wondering, this may have been asked already, could you please add option to being able to browsing through the messages while having a message open?
Something akin to ‘next/previous’ buttons, so one does not need to go back to the label level to click on the next/previous message?
Or a keyboard shortcut (‘N’/’P’; left/right arrow) would do nicely here 🙂

  • Hi! I’m just checking out protonmail and I really enjoy it so far. I’m impressed to that I’m able to download my PGP public key. Do you plan to add the possibility of importing the public key of non-protonmail users into the address book? This would be really cool! Thanks for being awesome!

  • protonmail is really great, but i still miss something that will make protonmail perfect for me. the possibility to use/create more alias addresses. so do you plan to allow to create more alias-addresses maybe with different domains ? this would be really great.

  • Best e-mail online. I would like to PAY (donate or buy some kind of upgrades) to make sure this e-mail service keeps going. Americans NEED secure private e-mail. 🙂

Thanks, guys! Keep up the awesome work! Stay blessed!
