How to change your display name in the email you use with Bridge

When you send a message from the email client you use with Bridge (such as Apple Mail or Outlook), you will have a display name assigned to your email address. This is the name that will appear to your email’s recipient.  If you would like to change this display name, please find the email client you are using below and follow the steps listed.

Apple Mail

Open Apple Mail and go to Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts

You will then need to select your ProtonMail account. Under the “Account Information” tab, click the Email Address field and select Edit Email Addresses

Double-click on the “Full Name” field. This will let you edit your display name.

Thunderbird

Open Thunderbird and select Tools -> Accounts Settings from the main menu. 

Then select your ProtonMail account. It will then display the “Your name” field that you can use to edit the display name for your ProtonMail account.

Outlook:

Windows

Open Outlook and select File -> Account Settings -> Account Settings.

Under the email tab, select your email account and click Change.

To change your display name, update the “Your name” field. When you’re done, click Next and then click on Close.

Mac

Open Outlook, select Tools –> Accounts, select your ProtonMail account, and edit the “Full name” field.
