The ProtonMail Plus plan is the basic paid version of ProtonMail. It comes with additional features and increased access to our Support team. In addition to ProtonMail Plus, we offer customized Plus plans, a Visionary plan, and Professional plans. By upgrading to ProtonMail Plus, you make it possible for ProtonMail to build a more private internet.
In addition to supporting ProtonMail’s overall mission, users who upgrade to ProtonMail Plus are provided with extra features which increase the functionality of their account.
These features include:
- Custom domains
- Increased storage
- Additional addresses
- Higher sending limits
- Autoresponder
- Up to 200 folders and 200 labels to organize your inbox
- Customer support
If you upgrade to ProtonMail Visionary, the limits on these features will increase even more, and you will receive priority with our Support team.
All our plans (except ProtonMail Free) are subscription based, and can be ordered on a monthly or annual basis. Annual subscriptions receive additional discounts.
You can learn more about ProtonMail paid plans by clicking here.
ProtonMail Plus pricing can be found on our pricing page: https://protonmail.com/pricing
How to get ProtonMail Plus
You will find an option to upgrade your ProtonMail account under the Upgrade and Settings tab.
Within your settings, you will find a Dashboard that allows you to upgrade your account.
In the unlikely even of hacking of mails, will you share with us the original IP address of the hacker ?

Hi
I’m using the standard proton mail free which is great and I am thinking of moving of moving to a paid version however I really do need the folders feature to be able to operate my email effectively, reading some of the threads it appears you have suggested folders have been coming for over a year now, is there any more news about when / if they will arrive and if so when as I cant upgrade until I get this
Thanks
Great product all the same :-0

For now we are using Labels for sorting and managing the messages you have. We are considering adding folders in the future, but we do not have an estimated time when and if they will be available.

Reading some of the negative comments on here makes me wonder if purple have any idea (1) how valuable this service is and (2) how much work goes into putting this ask together and keeping it running.
I have been using Protonmail for over a year and the last hurdle to making it my primary email service was the lack of a mobile app. Not that that is in place I am transitioning away from using gmail altogether.
Thank you Protonmail Team for all you do! I will be upgrading to a paid plan soon, though the free plan is sufficient for my needs. I want to upgrade as a way to support your work.

This is a man (past middle age) who struggles with computer jargon & computer systems.
I presently have a free account but want to update to the ProtonMail Plus Plan as I understand that I can have a web site name that is linked to my email account. (?)
I have a owner operator business, which a web site is currently being designed for.
My 4 email address are.., 2 at Gmail, 1 via the ISP provider & 1 at ProtonMail.
What I would like to do but need clarification if it is possible, is to have ProtonMail as my business email address, the web site also hosted at ProtonMail and possibly (some how) link the present ISP email account into being able to accessed, viewed & replied to, via ProtonMail.
Eg. a personal email coming through my present ISP, being able to be opened and read more securely when opening it using the ProtonMail system, and a business letter/email likewise more private, but this email having an address using a ……@protonmail.ch.
Id like the business contact Hyperlink email address to be via ProtonMail.
I’d like this because of the privacy which I understand it better when using or going through ProtonMail.
Is my wishes possible or am “I away with the fairies?”
Please excuse my ignorance. I find technology is often making the impossible, possible, hence my question.
From what I have read and to my limited knowledge of IT jargon, I think you can, but to be sure I’ll ask. Can ProtonMail host my business web site’s Domain name?
Is there a ProtonMail service that can set this type of system up for me? I expect that there would be a cost which is (depending if its ‘reasonable”) ok by me.
I have read so many sections in the Forums and Support Links but because the language is so foreign to me, I am struggling to determine if its possible, to set up as I have described above.
With great appreciation (especially dealing with dumb yobbos like me)
THANKS!

We do not host websites. This means that you need to have a website/domain registered on some service that provides this, and then you will be able to use that domain with ProtonMail. Business plans will be available in the future, and will be intended for small and medium sized businesses.

Is there an ETA for Business plans? When are you going to add this option?
0
We still do not have the exact ETA but we hope it will be by the end of the year.

For Protonmail Plus I really don’t have a custom domain, but I would like to take advantage of the “5 email addresses” thing. Can I instead include my wife and sibbling’s account under a SINGLE Protonmail Plus account? Thanks.
0
You cannot add existing accounts as users under the same subscription. The ProtonMail plus plan does not support additional users, only the Professional and Visionary plans support this and only with custom domain addresses. Additional users cannot have ProtonMail addresses.

I would like to send an email to about 70 people BCC’ed. Do I need Protonmail Plus for that? Thanks!

The maximum number of recipients per message in ProtonMail is 25. This limit is present in all ProtonMail plans.

Hi ProtonMail Support.
I have just registered my domain, set up the hosting but will keep my mails with Proton. Therefore I want to upgrade from unpaid version to Plus. Clearly, I have used my proton mail in some of the Accounts as contact mail. By changing to my domain email, do I need to change the address in all individual accounts or will they be automatically forwarded to the domain name of my choice (as Plus offers 5)?
Thank you for letting me know.
Kind Regards, Pauline

On the Plus plan, all additional addresses share the same Inbox, so messages for each of your addresses will arrive in the same place.

I am using Proton Mail for now and have different accounts for different purposes (family, friends, etc). Is it possible to merge accounts with Plus option? Also, what will happen to the merged accounts if the subscription lapses?
0
Please see: https://protonmail.com/support/knowledge-base/combine-accounts/.
If your subscription lapses, your mailbox access will be blocked: https://protonmail.com/support/knowledge-base/delinquency/.

I have language problems: On “https://protonmail.com/” I have chosen my language, but going onto “support” it’s always changing back to English. My English isn’t good enough for technical terms. What have I done wrong, or is there no way to follow your Help/Support in my chosen language ? When I will change to ProtonMail Plus, will I also get Help in English or are you able to react on my language settings: in my customized email as well on your Help-Site here (https://protonmail.com/support/knowledge-base/protonmail-plus/) ?
Thank you.

Unfortunately, the Support pages and customer support are only available in English at the moment.

hi, I would like to switch to the Plus version but if after a year the cost went up too much for me I could go back to the free version without losing the mails? thank you

To downgrade to the Free plan you need to ensure that the account meets the Free plan specifications: A maximum of 500 MB used storage, one active address, etc. If not, you’ll get an error telling you what needs to be done.
